Whether discipline issues, disruptions, lack of resources, room scheduling issues, lack of support from leadership, or a host of other issues that can arise, Bible teachers have plenty of fuel to get flustered, frustrated, or even furious. It can start small but festering inside and eventually grow into majorly negative attitudes that can hinder effectiveness in their teaching.
Always remember to pray for teachers’ heart attitudes but since we’re praying for Bible teachers in accordance with something that starts with the first letter of each month, August is a good time to remember to pray for Attitudes.
How to Pray for Bible Teachers’ Attitudes
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. … have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant… (Phil. 2:3-7)
- Pray that Bible teachers focus on the internal in both themselves and their students, not just external behavior.
- Pray that the Holy Spirit would grow within the teacher the proper attitudes to effectively reach and teach.
- Pray that teachers would be an example of Christ to their students from the inside out.
