Bible teachers might get discouraged for various reasons<\/a> — some related to their own personal circumstances or hectic lifestyles, some due to a lack of support by church leaders, some because of unruly or apathetic students, some as a result of a poor teaching environment or lack of good resources, etc. Whatever the cause, discouraged teachers can find hope in God’s Word.<\/p>\n

Bible Verses for Discouraged Teachers that Give Hope<\/h2>\n

Since “hope deferred makes the heart sick” (Prov. 13:12), it’s important teachers find hope. When we believe and rest on God’s promises, as seen in the following verses, we will find the hope we need. Doing God’s will, aligning with Him, comes with His promises to be at work and bring results in due time no matter how things appear.<\/p>\n

\"HopeTherefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. (1 Cor. 15:58)<\/em><\/p>\n

so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. (Isa. 55:11)<\/em><\/p>\n

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Gal. 6:9)<\/em><\/p>\n

How to Find Renewal When Discouraged<\/h2>\n

Bible teachers will find it difficult to keep going if they can’t find hope, joy, peace, and rest that renews discouraged hearts. If focusing on circumstances or what other people are doing (or not doing), we may find ourselves getting more and more discouraged. If however, we look to the Source of all we need, as seen in the following Bible verses, we will be able to keep going even in the midst of hardships and adversity.<\/p>\n

… but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. (Isa. 40:31)<\/em><\/p>\n

You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. (Ps. 16:11)<\/em><\/p>\n

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. (Heb. 12:1-3)<\/em><\/p>\n

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. (Matt. 11:29-30)<\/em><\/p>\n

He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord. (Psalm 40:2-3)<\/em><\/p>\n

And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. (2 Cor. 9:8)<\/em><\/p>\n

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. (Ephesians 6:12-13)<\/em><\/p>\n

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)<\/em><\/p>\n
