What greater example can Bible teachers learn from than Jesus, the Master Teacher<\/a>. Benefit would come from studying Jesus’ teaching ministry in the Gospels to observe how the Master Teacher taught using object lessons. \u00a0They could make three columns:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Object Used<\/td>\nHow Jesus Used the Object<\/td>\nWhy Jesus Used the Object<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

A broad sweep of this study would show the following:<\/p>\n

The Way Jesus, the Master Teacher, Used Objects:<\/h2>\n

1) \u00a0Jesus painted word pictures by referring to objects.<\/p>\n

Examples:<\/em> many of the parables<\/p>\n

2) \u00a0Jesus used actual objects.<\/p>\n

Examples:<\/em> coin (Matt. 22:15-22); child (Matt. 18:1-6)<\/p>\n

The Reason Jesus Used Objects:<\/h2>\n

Who Jesus Taught Using Objects:<\/h2>\n

As I was completing this article it occurred to me that a fourth column could be added to a study on Jesus’ example on using objects — Who He Was Teaching.<\/p>\n

One observation would be that He used object lessons with adults, His primary target group recorded in Scriptures. \u00a0I wonder how many teachers of adult classes would even read a post like this. \u00a0My guess is that a large percentage of them would think this means of teaching is only for children’s classes!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
