In a previous article, Tools for Teachers to Share the Gospel, I provided you with a tool I called the Romans Road Signs. In essence, the road to salvation is described using verses from the book of Romans and appropriate road signs.

STOP Sign: Stop and understand your fallen sinful condition.

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Rom. 3:23)

Danger Sign: Be aware that sin has consequences of separating us from God.

For the wages of sin is death (Rom. 6:23a)

Bridge Sign: God bridged the gap through the death of Jesus because He loves you.

but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Rom. 6:23b)

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Rom. 5:8)

Crossroad Sign: You must choose to trust in Jesus alone for your salvation.

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Rom. 10:9)

This can be a useful tool for teachers to have on hand (perhaps tucked in their Bible), should the opportunity present itself to present God’s plan of salvation to students one-on-one. It could be used to teach students how to share the Good News with their friends and family. — Print PDF with Signs Only — This tool without the verses written on it supposes that students memorize the verses that go with the signs … a good set of verses for memorization.

Sharing God’s plan of salvation with people today is not easy. At each of the road signs you will face challenges. In the next four posts we will take a look at challenges teachers might face.
