Bible teachers who want to take their role as a model<\/a> seriously need to work on their association, or relationship with students. They must make sure their example aligns with Christ. As authentic followers of Christ, they must then be available for students to observe them. Finally, being an example might take some accommodation — becoming all things to all people so that by all possible means you can be reach some who might not otherwise be reached (1 Cor. 9:22) — going the extra mile.<\/p>\n

What We Can Learn about the Bible Teacher’s Role as a Model Through Accommodation to People’s Needs<\/h2>\n

Notice how the Apostle Paul accommodated the people in Thessalonica:<\/p>\n

For you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example. We were not idle when we were with you, nor did we eat anyone\u2019s food without paying for it. On the contrary, we worked night and day, laboring and toiling so that we would not be a burden to any of you. We did this, not because we do not have the right to such help, but in order to offer ourselves as a model for you to imitate. (2 Thess. 3:7-9)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
