Motivate by Connecting with Spiritual Readiness Factors

People will be at different places based on spiritual readiness factors. But, no matter where people might be spiritually, they will tend to become more motivated to believe and learn when Bible teachers point them to a God who is greater than all others and is so gracious and loving that He will exercise His power for their good. This is a God who will:

1) meet their needs (Phil. 4:19)
2) care about them as individuals (Ps. 139)
3) provide the grace to grow (Col. 1:6; 2 Pet. 3:18)

Consequently, spurring people on to love and good deeds starts with presenting a God big enough to be able to help them and caring enough to meet them where they are in their spiritual journey.

A class may be composed of students at various stages in their spiritual journey so a “one-size-fits-all” approach in motivating students will not work. As much as possible, we must seek to meet students where they are in order to take them to the next step.
