Scripture is filled with verses about our need to depend on God if we are to do anything of eternal value and impact. Certainly, then, we would do well to use the D in December to remind us to pray that Bible teachers Depend on the Lord to work in and through them.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. (Prov. 3:5-6)
I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. (Jn. 15:5)
- Pray that teachers understand their need for prayer in lesson preparation.
- Ask God to remind teachers look to Him for wisdom when not sure what to say or do (James 1:5).
- Pray that teachers look to the Lord in all things, always seeking His face (Ps. 105:4).
In addition to the verses written above, take some time to look up the following verse that reinforce our need to depend of God for His power, strength, and wisdom: Ephesians 3:20-21; Philippians 4:13; James 1:5; 2 Peter 1:3
The Praying for Bible Teachers Throughout the Year Guide includes the above prayer points plus more for the month of December. While this resource can be started at any time of the year since the guides aren’t dated, the upcoming new year would be a good starting point to commit to regularly praying for Bible teachers.
