Bible teachers don’t need an actual classroom to teach. There are many truths teachers can share with their students through a variety of means that apply to all situations. Particularly think of messages people need to hear right now that give opportunity to teach about God’s character.
What Messages Do People Need to Hear?
Here are three messages people need to hear right know that give Bible teachers opportunity to teach about God’s character:
1) God cares.
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. (1 Pet. 5:7)
Also: Matthew 6:25-34; 10:28-31
What this teaches: God is love. (1 Jn. 4:16)
2) God is aware.
Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. (Heb. 4:13)
Also: Psalm 139:1-18
What this teaches: God sees and knows all. (Prov. 15:3; Rom. 11:33)
3) God is enough.
My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. (2 Cor. 12:9)
Also: Psalm 34:8-10; 46:1-3
What this teaches: God is all-powerful yet full of grace and mercy. (Phil. 4:19)
How Bible Teachers can Share these Messages
If teaching in a classroom or small group setting digitally or in-person, weave these truths throughout the lesson. Don’t just communicate Bibles stories but get to the God behind the story. You can look at any passage in the Word and ask, “What does this teach us about God?
If not formally teaching in a classroom setting, you can still teach these truths through a variety of means.
- Incorporate them into e-mails, texts, social media posts, etc..
- Send a series of three postcards or note cards through the postal service, maybe one a week, each containing one of the above messages.
- Copy the image in this post into an e-mail and send it to your students with a personal note from you about it. (You have permission to use the above image in that way.)
