In a Teacher Training Rut? Try Conference Calls

Share:

Conference calls provide a means of getting a group of teachers together at one time without having to leave home. This saves busy teachers travel time.

Teacher Training by Video Conference CallingWhile you could use mere audio calling, how much better if they could see each other via video.

You can use Skype, Facetime, or any other computer based phone conferencing program teachers are willing to install.

Using conference calls for teacher training does the following:

  • provides a platform for learning

Set up a meeting time all or most of your teachers will set aside and then provide training to a group of teachers at once.

  • presents a means of collaborating

Teachers can learn from one another as you discuss what they each do to address an issue and how they can work together to improve what they are doing.

  • promotes community

Teachers communicate with each other in real-time, getting to know each other better.

How you use conference calls will be blocked only by your creativity.
