Disciple-making Teachers or Just Getting By?

Share:

Teachers Must Make a Decision to make an InvestmentAt some point your teachers must make a decision.  Will they do enough to simply get by in fulfilling a responsibility or will they treat teaching as an investment that sometimes requires them to go the extra mile?  The teaching ministry of your church will be most effective when staffed with disciple-making teachers desirous of making an investment.

The Difference Between Disciple-making Teachers and Those Just Getting By

Teachers who want to make an investment in the lives of their students are disciple-making teachers.  Teachers who are just getting by are those who will tend to ask, “Isn’t teaching a lesson enough?” (Clicking on that link will take you to the MinTools.com store where you will find a helpful worksheet by that same title.)

Purpose

Investment: To love students
Just Getting By: To teach students

Perspective

Investment: It’s about discipling students in their relationship with God.
Just Getting By: It’s about getting through a lesson with some semblance of order and learning.

Passion

Investment: That students know God intimately and grow in their relationship with God
Just Getting By: That students know what the Bible says about God

If you want disciple-making teachers, then get beyond technique in teacher training.  Also address their purpose, perspective, and passion.
