Finding Articles Appropriate for Teacher Training Needs
Articles are generally easy to find, can fill a specific niche, and don’t usually take long to read. Articles can be informative, how-to in nature, testimonial of how another teacher did it, or simply meant to encourage and spur on.
You might find something that fits the need in a magazine or e-zine. Many web sites have articles you can share with your teachers that would be quite appropriate. Whether using magazines or online articles, be respectful of the owner’s rights. Unless specified that you may freely copy and distribute it, you should contact the author for permission. Copyright laws do apply to online content as well as hardcopies. Passing on the link to online articles for teachers to read online is acceptable.
The Teacher Training Module included in the Christian Education Files resource also suggests ways you might use articles for training beyond simply having them read it. It also looks at 22 additional means of training Bible teachers. (The Teacher Training Module can be purchased separately.)
