Students constantly face crossroads in life, needing to make decisions or choose a moral direction in the moment. What can we do as Bible teachers to help them think through their choices?
Use Role Playing to Help with Problem Solving
By using Role Playing as a drama teaching method, students are able to practice how they or someone else would act or react in different problem situations applying Biblical principles learned in a lesson. This is important because not all situations in life are easily solved with a simple act of obedience to a specific command of God but there are principles to guide them.
In the process they could also learn, in a safe environment, that:
- other people don’t always think or act like them
- their choices, actions, and reactions have consequences
Role playing can therefore be an effective Bible teaching method.
