Impact of How Bible Teachers Relate with Students

Share:

The S in September can remind us to pray for Students. Certainly pray for the effect God and His Word has on students. But, also pray for how teachers relate with students — what they say and do but also their attitudes toward them. This can influence the entire teaching-learning process, having either a positive or negative impact on it.

Growth in the Fear of the Lord Jehovah

Share:

As we begin to truly understand and believe in our Jehovah God, we develop a reverential trust in the fullness of who He is, trusting that He is the Sovereign One, the One of whom there is none greater, and therefore to be obeyed and worshiped — what the Bible refers to as “the fear of the Lord” (Ps. 111:10). Such a healthy, reverential awe and trust leads to great benefits and blessings. Therein lies the wisdom, protection, and help we need in life.

Let’s pray that Bible teachers themselves more and more develop this kind of view of God and pass it on by word and example to their students.

Pray for Growth in the Fear of the Lord, Jehovah.

Growth in the Fear of the Lord JehovahThe fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. (Ps. 111:10)

You who fear him, trust in the LORD – he is their help and shield. (Ps. 115:11)

  • Pray for the hearts of teachers to love and fear the Lord more completely (Deut. 6:5-7).
  • Ask God to help teachers present to students a Most High God whose name is the LORD … Jehovah (Ps. 83:18).
  • Pray that the Lord is revered in all that is done in the classroom setting.
  • Pray that teachers guide students in loving, worshiping, and revering the LORD, Jehovah.

Where Two or Three Gather in His Name

Share:

Whether it’s staff meetings, teacher training sessions, or time teachers spend in class with their students, pray for a sense of God’s presence in that meeting time — that it’s not just another meeting to attend. To know God is with us is to experience His power and love in ways words alone can never convey.

Pray for Teachers and Students as They Gather in His Name

The M in May can remind us to pray for Meeting times, as suggested in the Praying for Bible Teachers Throughout the Year Guide. Following are four of the thirty-one prayer points in the guide for May.

For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them. (Matt. 18:20)
Pray as Teachers & Students Gather in His Name

  • Pray that God’s power is sensed when teachers meet for training and planning.
  • Pray that God’s power is sensed when classes meet to focus on God and His Word.
  • Pray that God’s love is experienced when teachers meet for training and planning.
  • Pray that God’s love is demonstrated when students meet to learn about Him.

Thankful for Your Bible Teachers?

Share:

A year ago we approached praying for Bible teachers during the month of April that they would have a sense of appreciation because of the encouragement it brings. This April we’ll look at it from the leaders’ perspective. Teachers will only be encouraged if they sense the expressions of appreciation to be genuine. We, as leaders, must therefore truly value our teachers. When we do, we’ll not only express appreciation to teachers but also thankfulness to God as we pray for them.

Pray You’re Genuinely Thankful for Your Bible Teachers

Pray Leaders Genuinely Thankful for Bible TeachersI thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy… (Phil. 1:3-6)

Before end of April, take time to pray for yourself and other leaders who overseas your teachers. Here are some suggestions from the Praying for Bible Teachers Throughout the Year Guide.

  • Pray that leaders acknowledge the unique contribution of each individual teacher.
  • Pray with thanksgiving for the Bible teachers God has provided.
  • Pray that leaders genuinely extend support and appreciation to teachers.
