Critical Nature of Prayer in Teaching

Do you and your teachers really believe Jesus’ words in John 15:5? — “Apart from me you can do nothing.”

Spiritual Fruit When Connect to the Vine & PrayerAs a branch draws its sustenance, or strength, from the vine in order to bear fruit, so do we find our ability to not only survive but thrive in the Lord.  As Paul noted in Philippians 4:13, “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”

If we truly believe this, we will understand how critical prayer is to teaching.  In prayer . . .

  • We acknowledge Him as the source of any good we can do for eternity in the lives of students. (Col. 1:9-12)
  • We trust Him for the strength we need to teach.  (Eph. 3:16, 20)
  • We depend on Him to show us what to do and say as we teach.  (James 1:5)

Bible teachers need constant reminders of how much they need to turn to the Lord if they are going to be effective teachers.  The worksheet,  Praying Like You Truly Believe HE is the Source of All You Need, available through the MinTools.com store, will help them understand how much they really do need Him.
